ESP32 Marauder Mini WarDriver upgrades - GPS and Battery Mod
In this video we will be adding a GPS radio and a 1300 MaH battery to the stock ESP32 Marauder Mini non-GPS model. This will enable the wardriving function of the MarauderMini giving roughly 6 hours of wardriving time on a single battery charge. All wardriving data is written to the micro SD card which can then be uploaded to wigle.net

What advantage does the gps give you? What use do you even get from it?
I haven’t changed the connection of a battery before but I want to learn. What can I look up to find out how to safely do this with the type of battery used in this video?
Excellent vid. I have my antenna and NOOELEC parts, just need to get my butt out there and put it together. Wish I had enough hair for a style like yours!
How do you get the messages to reach the Apple Watch?
How to order
Great video mate! Thank you, this is exactly what I needed.
Have you looked into the jhewitt 5ghz mod?
Can you disable the GPS to save battery life?
What voltage do it supply? 3.3v or 5v? I need to google that, I have plenty 5v GPS around me for my radio control projects.
Or could I use the blackberry & the Tdeck to help meshtastic or see what else I can connect or what else is still lec felt.0
Could I use my old blackberry passport🙏🙏🙏just need firmware & need to GPS channels set 👍👍👍👍👍
good video. I have been looking at these but the lack of gps has been a holdback nice tutorial to implement the glaringly missing feature. I mean its obvious right? If I want a signal repeater it doesnt need GPS. If I'm replacing my phone on an encrypted messaging app, then my location matters right? right..?
For being 'designed' for 915mhz an SWR of 2.5:1 is really awful, clearly it's too 'long' (electrically at least) as the dip near 1:1 is the UK freq of 866mhz. But yes, you're right you really ought to have the properly matched antenna for a transmitter (rx well, closer is better and will rx better, but at least no damage) yes, also a ham... I kind of what to slap on a good 3-6dBi antenna at the top of my tower, and run at full 1500w legally allowed for us hams, to see how far I'd reach, haven't played with 33cm much. 23cm tho, that's a blast, and too bad it's limited to 5w for hams. and yes its ham not HAM, it's not an acronym. Love the T deck, thanks for the video, used it to find what case I wanted for mine, and ended up going with the one you linked. Too bad the battery is stupid expensive for 5Ah, 1S.
Raspberry pi zero 2 w has a decent built in real time clock!
Thanks for mentioning I almost bought the clock when getting the pi 2.
Who is selling these as kits?
Google justcallmekoko
Make me one :)
Great video. Very interested in more information and videos on this device. Thanks for your quality upload. 😎👌
Nice video thanks! Since you have two TDecks would be nice to see a range test
Reasons why bluetooth is still a terrible protocol and why we need wired audio
Dang my case was so dang tight, I broke the stupid power button 😖😖
You Have probably v3
Great video. Very helpful.
bro with half the price i literally made a handheld console along with analog sticks, what a scam
Bro you're a little late to the party. Try hitting me up 4 years ago when this video came out.
can this be done wiht voice messages? inotherwords can you create a mesh walkie talkie?
no
Outstanding presentation
good job!
I think because the market is being flooded with cheaply priced Chinese copies of the hackrf that maybe I should say something to those out there still undecided about upgrading from a flipper zero to a hackrf and I can only speak from a novice point of view of course but the 1st thing I notice dispite the cool neon lights it has and the almost walkie talkie type look to it is..... 1.) If your gonna try pentesting with this gadget outside anywhere your gonna need to carry a spare battery charger because it goes threw alot of juice while your busy searching down to the kernal to find what you want or think you want. 2.) Speaking of kernals and scripts the hackrf is alot more CLOSELY RELATED to the filing system in your computer then the flipper zero even with the newest installed firmware. So forget the notion that it's some kind of toy. 3.) Most of the stuff or some of the stuff you wanna see with your eyes.....like aircraft signals and Boat signals, ambulances, police, fire emergency's weather and radio frequencies.. ....You can do all of that by just investing in a good scanner, regardless of that unless your Licensed and have one hell of a good reason you can't transmite anything to them..... 4.) It is very easy to blow the amp on the hackrf with only The static charge of an antenna so care needs to be taken when handeling it. 5.) Which brings us back to the flipper zero and for it's creators to further evolve it's firmware to keep up with technology or the flipper zero will soon only be good as an electronic pet and not much more.....In my opinion the evolution of the Nano flipper zero was 100% geek and 0% pentester and that makes it a failure in the real world. So we need technology developers to get involved in our community and share that knowledge....becoming wealthy keeping technological secrets for telsa, automakers and gatekeepers will only last so long before someone publishes a book about it or leaks it to wikileaks.. and those are my opinions the hackrf requires far more hacking then the flipper zero but keep in mind the hackrf has a larger frequency range so you have to decide....What do you really wanna do? Pentest or become apart time geek?
Could this be done with a cheap android phone?
I don't see why not, give it a try and let us know!
On the globe lol
GPS stands for Global Positioning System, Global is literally in the name
Funny how all the techs, engineers, and ex military in telecom always called it ground position system. But the earth is measured and navigated flat so it makes sense from a scientific point of view instead of thr retail view found in Plato's cave.
I'm just stumbling upon the tdeck. Does it only communicate between other tdeck type devices? Is it a souped up radio so to speak?
Meshtastic uses LoRa for RF communications, read up on LoRa and it will have all the information you're looking for
Hey Joey, we greeted on your thingiverse page, could you please look it up?
good concept, but how many open wifi networks are there these days? Not many.
Thanks for your comment, my experience has been quite different. I literally showed this working driving down the street.
i love your videos do more please 🎉❤
where i can order all parts please?
is it possible to use es32 to run interface
good old dnstunnel creatively used :)
Can you do a follow-up showing this with your own DNS infrastructure? The Canary token free limit does not show if this is useful or practical.
No thanks. I gave you everything you need to do this yourself. If my video wasn't sufficient to prove this is useful or practical, feel free to follow my instructions as a starting place and add anything you would like to make it more useful and practical.
awesome video. Thanks. fyi.. there is no DNS record for WWW so your link in the description is dead.
Thanks for pointing that out, its been fixed!
If it relies only on open wifi networks, it might be an issue when there aren't such networks around. Have you considered connecting to password protected wifi networks as well? With the help of pwnagotchi and a related plugin you should be able to connect to wifi networks with weak passwords and perform those dns requests to track location of the device. Good job with your project!
I remember when Alex first demoed it. Very cool. Never trust LiPo polarity. Always check it when it comes prewired.
Bummer that the vendor URL doesn't work now :(
try without the www
It would also be cool to have a LoRa/meshtastic version :)
This is basically already built into meshtastic, the "Range Test" feature does something pretty similar: meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/module/range-test/
@@HackedExistence good suggestion. I am going to try that as soon as I have my router up. Meshtastic is great!
Sold out bruh wtf
I'll stick with Wigle on an Android phone 🤷♂️
If u can connect a gps using uart straight to the d1mini would be sick! Look into the fpv 5v m10 micro gps they are like 15$ cad!! I need this for my fpv drones o:
A smaller, headless form factor of this would be awesome
Been sold out for a while
Make your own. It’s really not hard.
Can I find pcb bro
DNSDriveBy.com
Thanks! Any idea when we'll be able to order? Shows sold out :(
I have a ClockworkPi uConsole and am hoping putting together T-Decks will give me some ideas for turning it into a Meshtastic communicator. Thanks!
I followed this video in order to mod my 4 switch 2600. Same mod and same 2600. I kept getting signal degradation coming in and out. I decided to remove q201 and that solved it. I would definitely recommend removing q201. I hope this helps anyone else out.
